Sudbury Road resurfacing begins as library unveils summer exhibitions
CONCORD — Road crews began resurfacing work on Sudbury Road this week as part of a broader paving push across town, while the Concord Free Public Library opened a pair of new exhibitions, including a solo art show and a rare-documents display tied to the nation's semiquincentennial.

The Town of Concord kicked off a week of road work on Monday, July 6, with resurfacing on Sudbury Road from Main Street to Fairhaven Road, accompanied by a detour, according to the town's News Flash listings. The broader "Road Work Overview for Week Beginning July 6th" also lists work scheduled on Main Street, Thoreau Street, Everett Street, Stow Street, Devons Street, Thoreau Ct., Philip Farm Road, Virginia Road, Liberty Street, Annursnac Hill Road, and College Road.
The town also flagged its new FY26 Grants Dashboard, which town officials say offers residents a clearer view of how Concord is leveraging grant opportunities to support the community.

The Concord Free Public Library opened two new exhibitions this week. "Summer Memories," a solo show by Massachusetts artist Lucinda Hamilton, is on view in the Munroe Gallery at the Main Library from July 6 through July 30, with an opening reception set for Saturday, July 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. Separately, "A Celebration of the Declaration: An Exhibition of Rare 1776 Documents" remains on view at the Main Library through July 26.
The library also reminded patrons that road work on Sudbury Road and Stow Street may cause intermittent parking disruptions at the Main Library through July 10, and announced that applications are open for its 2027 Writer-in-Residence Program, with a July 15 deadline for the January–June 2027 residency period.
