Sudbury Preservation Committee Opens Applications For 2027 Town Meeting

Sudbury's Community Preservation Committee has opened its window for qualifying project applications, with proposals the committee recommends set to go before the Annual Town Meeting in May 2027.

The Community Preservation Committee is now accepting applications for projects that qualify under the Community Preservation Act, which allows town funding for a defined set of qualifying purposes. Projects the CPC chooses to recommend will be presented to voters at the May 2027 Annual Town Meeting; applicants must submit proposals by the committee's stated deadline.

SCHOOLS

Sudbury Public Schools posted several fall program notices this week as the district gears up for the Sept. 2 first day of school for grades one through eight. New items include fall registration for TOPSoccer, a call for new members to join the district's fifers and drummers, and word that Yoga Six is opening in town this fall. New Teacher Orientation is set for Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 26 and 27, ahead of staff professional development days and the start of classes.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Sudbury Senior Center opens registration for its Fall 1 fitness classes to residents Monday, Aug. 24, with non-residents able to sign up starting Tuesday, Aug. 25; residents can register by phone at (978) 443-3055. The center's summer hours run through Sept. 30: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to noon.
