Shirley Sets Public Safety Day for Sept. 26

SHIRLEY — Shirley's Annual Public Safety Day is set for Saturday, Sept. 26, giving residents the town's biggest near-term date on the calendar, while Hazen Memorial Library rolls out a fresh week of fall programming for families and children.

Shirley's Annual Public Safety Day returns Saturday, Sept. 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 7 Keady Way, the town's official calendar shows. The event is the most significant town-wide date on Shirley's near-term calendar.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

Hazen Memorial Library keeps its fall lineup moving this week. The Family Partnership Center leads "Once Upon A Craft," a story-and-craft session for children up to age 6, on Monday, Sept. 21; the program is funded through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care's Coordinated Family & Community Engagement Grant. The Friends of the Hazen Memorial Library hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, Sept. 22, the same day the library's STEM for Kids program returns for students in grades 2 through 5.

Regular library offerings also continue: instructor Mary Lance's six-week yoga series and instructor Meghan O'Neil's Mat Pilates class both run through the first week of October.

COMING UP

The Recreation Commission meets Monday, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. at 7 Keady Way. The Center Town Hall Committee meets the same evening at 7 p.m. at 3 Parker Road.
