Select Board · Meeting of October 20, 2026

STONEHAM — The Stoneham Select Board accepted a donated portrait of former member Alice Del Rossi and approved licenses for a new Main Street restaurant. Artist Lori Del Janus presented the Cultural Council-funded portrait; Del Rossi's daughter, Nancy, said "the town hall was like a second home" for her mother. The board voted 3-0 by roll call to approve two one-day liquor licenses for an applicant called "the zoo," then unanimously approved Common Victualer and entertainment licenses letting Nick's Place open at 219 Main Street.

Members also debated how to define which "civic, cultural, and similar community events" can serve alcohol on town property under a May 2024 Town Meeting article, noting less than 20 approvals issued so far. Staff reported receiving three trash-collection bids, none including a manual-collection option, and said the high school wetlands project should finish by early November.
