Planning Board, Conservation Commission meet virtually this week

The Planning Board and Conservation Commission each held virtual meetings this week, while Town Hall continues to seek a seasonal cemetery worker and reminds residents about transfer station permit deadlines.

TOWN HALL

The Ashby Planning Board held a virtual meeting on July 8 at 7 p.m., with agenda materials posted to the town website ahead of the session. The Conservation Commission met virtually on July 7 at 7:30 p.m., also using Zoom for public access, according to notices posted on the town's News Flash page.

Separately, the Town Clerk's office posted its office hours for the week of July 6-9. The Town Administrator's office is also advertising a part-time seasonal Cemetery Worker position to help maintain Ashby's three town cemeteries; interested applicants can contact Barbara Thorpe at tabos@ashbyma.gov or 978-386-2424 x123.

The town is also reminding residents that Transfer Station permits, priced at $50 per year, are available for purchase through two options listed on the town website.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Ashby Free Public Library, located at 812 Main Street, continues its regular hours: Tuesday and Wednesday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday 1 to 8 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library's ongoing offerings include its Event Calendar, a scholarship program, and the Ashby Oral History Project, which features recorded films documenting community history and remains available for viewing on the library's website.
