Pepperell EDAC Lines Up Fall Speakers, Nears Finish on Six-Year Wayfinding Project

Pepperell's Economic Development Advisory Committee advanced plans for its fall speaker series and updated members on two ongoing projects at its June 18 meeting. A six-town regional economic development survey, managed by the North Middlesex Council of Governments under a $5,500 grant, has collected more than 156 responses and closes June 30; results will be shared at a joint meeting of the 1st Middlesex District Economic and Community Development Collaboration after that date. The committee's chair, identified as Joan, reported that one of three Historical Commission directional signs ordered in 2020 is now installed near the Rotary on Hollis Street, a second awaits a manufacturer's correction quote before installation on town property, and a third is pending Department of Conservation and Recreation approval for placement near Kemp's gas station at the rail trail.

A town official identified as Andrew has committed to covering all sign costs. On the committee's wayfinding advertising map, Joan said only about 10 of 35 businesses solicited have responded to payment requests; advertisers who do not pay $25 will be removed from the map, which is ready to post. The committee will not meet in July or August; its next regular meeting is September 17, 2026.
