Park Commission · Meeting of February 9, 2026

GROTON — The Park Commission approved three spring field permits and began planning outreach for a May 2 town meeting vote. Members Mark Presti, Jeffrey Ohringer and Anna Eliot answered aye on roll calls approving the soccer club's April-through-June request, Soccer Shots on Saturdays from April 11 to June 6, and Polar Crush on four April Sundays. The commission also sent a letter backing a pollinator pathway to the Community Preservation Committee, and it approved a two-signature rule for invoices.

Speakers said the CalCon project needs a two-thirds town meeting vote because it involves bonding, and one member estimated 1,000 families use town sports programs. The commission moved its next meeting to March 9.
