The following is a compilation of incidents and arrests recorded in the Reading Police Department's official public log for the period February 23–March 1, 2026. All persons listed are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Domestic violence incidents, sexual assaults, and juvenile matters are excluded per Massachusetts law (G.L. c. 41, section 98F).
Monday, Feb. 23, 12:31 a.m. — Hazard / Wires Down: Wires reported down at the intersection of Deering Street and Middlesex Avenue.
Monday, Feb. 23, 4:25 a.m. — Burglar Alarm: A burglar alarm activated at an exterior door of Killam School, 333 Charles Street.
Monday, Feb. 23, 6:10 a.m. — Hazard: A missing utility cover was reported near the intersection of Brande Court and Chute Street.
Monday, Feb. 23, 7:12 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A DPW vehicle and a motor vehicle collided near the intersection of Haverhill Street and Wakefield Street; no injuries were reported.
Monday, Feb. 23, 7:29 a.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A car struck a snowbank near the intersection of Haverhill Street and Franklin Street; no injuries were reported.
Monday, Feb. 23, 9:13 a.m. — Snowstorm-Related Incidents: Amid an ongoing snowstorm, police responded to multiple disabled and stuck vehicles across South Street at Main Street, Main Street at Harnden Street, Bancroft Avenue, and John Street at Salem Street, including disabled DPW equipment; an MBTA bus was also reported stuck near the railroad tracks on Woburn Street.
Monday, Feb. 23, 8:55 p.m. — Property Damage: A resident reported that a DPW front-end loader struck mailboxes on the 8 block of Strawberry Hill Lane.
Tuesday, Feb. 24, 7:13 a.m. — Carbon Monoxide Alarm: A carbon monoxide detector activated at a residence on the 120 block of Grove Street.
Tuesday, Feb. 24, 12:28 p.m. — Commercial Fire Alarm: A fire sprinkler alarm activated at a commercial property on the 150 block of Main Street; no contact was made with the premises.
Tuesday, Feb. 24, 12:37 p.m. — Road Closure: Deering Street was closed between Harriman Avenue and Middlesex Avenue.
Tuesday, Feb. 24, 3:07 p.m. — Neighbor Dispute: A caller reported a neighbor pushing snow into the street and onto their driveway, on the 12 block of Beverly Road.
Tuesday, Feb. 24, 8:22 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Hit and Run: A caller reported a possible hit-and-run and provided a plate number at the Market Basket parking lot, 30 General Way.
Wednesday, Feb. 25, 10:32 a.m. — Larceny: Theft from a retail store was reported at Comically Speaking, 575 Main Street; a complaint application was filed.
Wednesday, Feb. 25, 11:05 a.m. — Hazard: A dumpster was reported in the middle of the road near the intersection of Haverhill Street and Franklin Street.
Wednesday, Feb. 25, 5:10 p.m. — Alarm — Panic: A panic alarm activated at Northern Bank & Trust, 600 Main Street.
Wednesday, Feb. 25, 6:07–6:49 p.m. — Fire/CO Alarms: A fire and carbon monoxide alarm activated twice at 61 Grand Street within approximately 40 minutes; fire department responded both times.
Wednesday, Feb. 25, 8:37 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A two-car collision was reported at the 360 block of Main Street; no injuries were reported.
Wednesday, Feb. 25, 9:38 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Stop — Complaint Application Filed: As the result of a motor vehicle stop and search near the intersection of Salem Street and Winter Street, a complaint application was filed.
Thursday, Feb. 26, 1:16 a.m. — Medical Emergency: A medical emergency was reported at the 399 block of Pearl Street.
Thursday, Feb. 26, 9:07 a.m. — Larceny / Fraud: A person reported a scam with a financial loss at Salem Five bank, 8 Walkers Brook Drive.
Thursday, Feb. 26, 11:07–1:35 p.m. — Train Gate Malfunction: An officer reported a problem with train gates at Main Street and the railroad tracks; MBTA crews were subsequently working on the gates at Washington Street and High Street.
Thursday, Feb. 26, 11:43 a.m. — Hazard / Wires: Low-hanging wires were reported by DPW at the 12 block of Appleton Lane.
Thursday, Feb. 26, 12:40 p.m. — Gas Odor: A gas odor was reported at the Senior Center, 49 Pleasant Street; a fire alarm box was transmitted.
Thursday, Feb. 26, 12:56 p.m. — Solicitor Complaint: A caller on the 54 block of Marla Lane reported a solicitor was photographing her.
Thursday, Feb. 26, 4:12 p.m. — Fraud — Attempted: A person reported a potential scam at the police station; the incident was on the 18 block of Bethune Avenue.
Thursday, Feb. 26, 5:52 p.m. — Suspicious Motor Vehicle: An unknown dark-colored SUV was reported in a private driveway on the 629 block of Haverhill Street.
Friday, Feb. 27, 7:48 a.m. — Trespass: The Reading Post Office, 123 Haven Street, requested that a homeless man be trespassed from the property.
Friday, Feb. 27, 12:03 p.m. — Property Damage: A caller reported damage to a vehicle while using the car wash at the 374 block of Main Street.
Friday, Feb. 27, 12:14 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash: A DPW trash truck was involved in a collision near Burger King, 357 Main Street.
Friday, Feb. 27, 1:43 p.m. — Larceny — Shoplifting: A man was reported taking items from REI Sporting Goods, 279 Salem Street.
Friday, Feb. 27, 2:50 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Hit and Run: A hit-and-run was reported at the 550 block of Main Street.
Saturday, Feb. 28, 12:15 a.m. — Suspicious Motor Vehicles: Two white sedans were reported circling the area near the 11 block of Haystack Road, one without headlights.
Saturday, Feb. 28, 12:39 a.m. — Noise Disturbance: A caller reported loud neighbors at the 14C block of Carnation Circle.
Saturday, Feb. 28, 12:35 p.m. — Fraud — Attempted: A resident reported a possible attempted fraud at the police station; the incident was on the 218 block of Pearl Street.
Saturday, Feb. 28, 12:51 p.m. — Malicious Destruction: A road-rage incident near the intersection of Main Street and Salem Street resulted in a man damaging the side mirror of another motor vehicle.
Saturday, Feb. 28, 5:03 p.m. — Hazard: A utility cover was reported out of place near Liquor Junction, 74 General Way.
Saturday, Feb. 28, 5:33 p.m. — Residential Fire Alarm: A fire alarm activated at a residence on the 45 block of Benton Circle.
Saturday, Feb. 28, 11:45 a.m. — Fire Alarm: A fire alarm box was received for a second-floor stairwell at Trident Management Apartments, 172 Woburn Street.
Sunday, Mar. 1, 8:55 a.m. — Property Damage: A resident reported that DPW equipment damaged their fence at the 146 block of West Street.
Sunday, Mar. 1, 10:46 a.m. — Hazard / Wires: A possible downed cable wire was reported on a snowbank near the library on the 64 block of Middlesex Avenue.
Sunday, Mar. 1, 11:17 a.m. — Threats: A man reported being threatened by a man and a woman in the Reading Town Forest, near the 15 block of Lynn Village Way.
Sunday, Mar. 1, 1:51 p.m. — Identity Theft / Fraud: A resident reported identity theft and possible credit card fraud on the 86 block of Gleason Road; a complaint was filed.
Sunday, Mar. 1, 3:10 p.m. — Illegal Dumping: A business owner reported illegal dumping at the 2 block of Linden Street.
Sunday, Mar. 1, 3:10 p.m. — Motor Vehicle Crash (Past): A woman reported a past hit-and-run near Public Kitchen, 530 Main Street.
