Hopkinton Schools Set September 2 Start Date for Students
HOPKINTON — Hopkinton Public Schools will open the 2026-27 school year for students on Sept. 2, with teachers and staff reporting back Aug. 31 for two days of professional development, according to the district's online calendar.
SCHOOLS
The district calendar shows staff returning Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 for professional development days ahead of the first day of classes for grades 1-12 on Sept. 2. Kindergartners begin the following day, Sept. 3. Hopkinton High School has ninth grade orientation Aug. 26, with separate orientation sessions for international and transfer students Aug. 27. The district has flagged Sept. 7, Labor Day, as a no-school day as families finish out the summer stretch.
COMING UP
The Hopkinton Public Library hosts Unplugged Coding for Kids on Monday, Aug. 24, from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Children's Programming Room. Younger patrons can attend Baby & Toddler Storytime Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The Board of Library Trustees meets the same day, Aug. 25, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Ellsworth Conference Room.
