Hopkinton Library to Host Narcan Training Sept. 8

HOPKINTON — Hopkinton Public Library will host a Narcan training and community harm reduction session with the town's Health Department on Sept. 8, adding a new public health program to the library's fall calendar. The announcement came alongside a fresh slate of school and library dates for the first full week of September.

SCHOOLS

Hopkinton Public Schools posted its superintendent's memo for September to the district website this week, part of the district's regular communication as classes get underway. The district's calendar also lists two concrete dates for families: a Grade 6 Back to School Night from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 10, and the Scholastic Book Fair, running Sept. 11 through Sept. 13.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Narcan training and harm reduction session, held in partnership with the Hopkinton Health Department, is scheduled for 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 8 in the library's Ellsworth Conference Room. That same evening, the library will run a virtual program, "Writing the Nightmare: A Ship Called Sickness," from 7 to 8 p.m.

Earlier in the month, the library's Children's Programming Room will hold Babytime from 9:15 to 10 a.m. and Little Explorers from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Sept. 4.
