Holliston Town Meeting Unanimously Approves $2.5 Million High School Feasibility Study

Holliston Town Meeting unanimously approved $2.5 million for a Holliston High School feasibility study, clearing the first financial step in a potential $300 million building project. Finance Committee Chair Ken Shada and Select Board Chair Ben Sparrow navigated more than 20 minutes of floor debate over which fund accounts would supply the money before Sparrow moved to draw the full amount from the capital expenditure fund, a motion the school committee endorsed. The MSBA eligibility period begins June 1, with the state expected to reimburse roughly 50 percent of eligible costs.

Voters also approved a $76,908,074 FY27 general fund budget, balanced without service cuts largely through an $800,000 health insurance savings, alongside a $1,298,000 capital budget and $41,996 in direct financial support for community broadcaster HCAT. A zoning bylaw amendment defining kennels was indefinitely postponed after a resident identified a numerical inconsistency between two related articles.
