Flash Flood Watch Prompts Warnings Across Westford Region
A flash flood watch and news that Town Manager Kristen Las is stepping down dominated Westford headlines this week, even as town hall pressed ahead with routine summer business including a new assessor appointment and completed athletic facility upgrades.

The town promoted Steven Clark to Chief Assessor, according to a News & Announcements post on the town website. Separately, the town confirmed the Stony Brook Track & Athletic Court Improvement Project is now complete, and residents were reminded that the town's Pay-As-You-Throw trash program officially took effect this week.
Town officials also announced Forge Pond would be treated on July 23, and the Nabnassett Elementary School playground remains temporarily closed during construction. Applications for the fall bow hunting season are being accepted through August 7, with permits issued by August 14, ahead of a September 1 season start.

WestfordCAT, the town's community access television nonprofit, is promoting its Can-Do Attitude Charity Golf Tournament, a fundraising event bringing together local golfers, according to a listing on westfordcat.org.
At the J.V. Fletcher Library's temporary location on Groton Road, staff continue rolling out summer programming, including a Digital Art for Kids workshop and a Digital Animation Workshop for tweens and teens on July 30 at the Roudenbush Community Center.
