Environment and Energy Efficiency Committee · Meeting of April 27, 2026
Watertown's Environment and Energy Efficiency Committee said it wanted to track every pending environmental ordinance. Councilor Nicole Gardner, who chairs the council's Rules and Ordinances Subcommittee, told members only the Skip the Stuff plastics ordinance and a noise ordinance revision were ready for subcommittee work. She said the council would vote on Skip the Stuff Tuesday, with a six-month education period before enforcement.
Members said a council referral spreadsheet omitted drafts still with city staff, including the Birdo, a tree ordinance and a solar ordinance. Energy Manager Silas said the new high school should reach temporary occupancy in mid-to-late May. The committee, now seven members with a quorum of four, approved two sets of minutes and marked the last meeting of longtime member Brian.
