Early Voting Opens For Wayland's Sept. 1 Primary
Saturday, August 22 — Early, in-person voting opened across Massachusetts ahead of the Sept. 1 state primary, giving Wayland voters more than a week to cast ballots before Primary Day. Monday, August 24, 7:30 p.m. — Arts Wayland hosts The Songwriter's Woodshed at its gallery, a recurring session for local musicians to work on original material.
Wednesday, August 26 — Submissions close for Arts Wayland's members-only September-October art exhibit; artists have until 11:59 p.m. to enter.
Friday, August 28, 5 to 8 p.m. — Arts Wayland and Wayland Town Center host Tap'n'Tunes, an end-of-summer block party on Elissa Avenue featuring the band Seven2Many, newcomer Georgia Raines, and drinks from Clover Road Brewery. The street will close to traffic for the event, which includes a kiddie splash pool, games and seating; food will be available from Giacomo's and other local restaurants.
Tuesday, September 1 — The deadline arrives for Massachusetts authors to submit ghost stories and poetry to "The Massachusetts Gothic," a joint call from Arts Wayland and the MetroWest Writers' Guild. Program co-lead Luke Acton is fielding eligibility questions ahead of a Sept. 25 reading at the Arts Wayland Gallery.
Wednesday, September 3 — Vendor registration closes for the 2026 Arts Wayland Winter Art Fair, set for Dec. 5 at Wayland High School's Commons.
Sunday, September 20, 12 to 2 p.m. — The Wayland Museum & Historical Society opens "A Year of Sports," a new year-long exhibit, with its first chapter, "Out Until Dark," on view at the Grout-Heard House through November.
