Dunstable Advisory Board Completes Warrant Review Ahead of May 11 Town Meeting

DUNSTABLE — April 30, 2026 — Dunstable's Advisory Board completed its pre-town-meeting warrant review April 30, endorsing most of 25 articles heading to Annual Town Meeting on May 11. The board unanimously backed Article 21, a rezoning of 174 Pleasant Street from residential to business district near the post office, and reaffirmed support for a $150,000 transfer to the General Stabilization Fund drawn from $50,000 in free cash and $100,000 from a PFAS settlement fund. At least one member indicated he would vote against Article 22, the proposed 0.75 percent local meals tax, saying it was "targeted at two businesses" and that those existing food-service establishments had not been consulted. The board's position against Article 25, which would allow marijuana retail sales, stood after renewed discussion of the Planning Board's prior 3-2 vote against the proposal and concerns that Dunstable's revenue gain would be modest given three dispensaries already operating in neighboring Groton. One board member announced the April 30 session would be his final public meeting after six and a half years on the board.
