Lowell's Community Preservation Committee deemed the St. Joseph the Worker Shrine roof request eligible for funds.
Other Committee · Meeting of November 5, 2026
Lowell's Community Preservation Committee deemed the St. Joseph the Worker Shrine roof request eligible for funds. Members voted by voice to clear the Oblates of Mary Immaculate application for $70,000 in historic preservation money for the roof at 37 Lee Street, after hearing the filing was late because of an administrative oversight. The panel also heard the Lowell Center for the Arts present its application for stained glass window work at the Smith-Baker Center, where members questioned figures including a $400,000 request and a roughly $850,000 total for the windows.
The committee approved its 2027 schedule, added a chair election to December, and welcomed new member Jenna Gilbo.
