CHELMSFORD — The Chelmsford Conservation Commission tabled a $15,000 Community Preservation Act funding request for a Putnam Brook planting design after members split over costs at the Warren-Pohl Reservation. Commissioner David McLachlan said the commission had already spent roughly $24,000 on studies and invasive-plant work with "nothing has actually been done," while Commissioner Peter Spawn called the design process "the right thing for the town to do." Commissioner John Swenson said he would never support planting willow trees there. Separately, the commission voted 6-0 to issue a standard order of conditions for New England Power Company's transmission line maintenance, and voted 6-0 to continue a 91 Tyngsboro Road contractor garage hearing to September 8 pending a DPW peer review of flood-storage calculations the state had flagged as deficient.
