Carlisle Town Hall Elevators Go Out Of Service Starting Sept. 2

Carlisle Town Hall's elevators will go out of service starting September 2, and the town says visitors who need help should head to the first floor, where the Town Clerk and the Council on Aging and Human Services will be on hand to assist.

The elevator outage takes effect Tuesday and comes with no stated end date in the town's announcement. Residents with business at Town Hall who would normally use an upper floor are directed to check in with the Town Clerk's office or the Council on Aging and Human Services, both located on the first floor, for accommodations.

Separately, the town's Safety Committee has scheduled a speed limit summit for September 10 at 7 p.m., asking residents to weigh in on traffic concerns; details on format and location are expected as the date nears.

The town's ongoing surplus equipment sale, a story this desk has followed in recent days, grew again this week: three generators and three storage tents no longer needed for municipal use joined the tractor and four trucks already listed for sale.

SCHOOLS

The Carlisle School Committee's next scheduled meeting is set for September 16 at 6 p.m., according to the district's posted calendar, following an August 26 remote session.

COMING UP

The state primary is Tuesday, September 1, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Clark Room at Town Hall, 66 Westford Street. The Council on Aging and Human Services also meets that day.

On Wednesday, September 2, the Safety Committee holds a hybrid meeting and the Cemetery Committee meets as well, the same day Town Hall's elevators go out of service.

The Safety Committee's speed limit summit follows on September 10 at 7 p.m.
