Carlisle Declared in Level 3 Critical Drought Status
The Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs has designated the Northeast Region, including Carlisle, as being in Level 3 – Critical Drought status, according to the Carlisle Board of Health.

The Board of Health's drought declaration is the most significant town news of the day. The critical designation for the Northeast Region signals heightened concern over water supply conditions and typically brings tighter guidance on water use for residents; town officials are directing residents to the town website for further details on the advisory.
Separately, the July edition of the Town of Carlisle Municipal Newsletter was released today, offering the monthly roundup of town and community news, celebrations and happenings, with an open invitation for community groups to submit items for future editions.
Residents are also reminded that Transfer Station permit enforcement remains in effect. Same-day permit transactions by credit or debit card are available at the Police Station, while all other transactions are handled by mail; no cash is accepted.
SCHOOLS
Carlisle Public Schools remains in its summer schedule, with Main Office summer hours set at 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Summer School is running from July 6 through August 7, and the district is reminding families that there is no public restroom access for playground users during that period. The playground and School Street lot remain restricted to student use and are closed to public parking on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The district has also posted its 2026 Summer Learning Resources, including summer reading lists and math practice tools for all grade levels. The next Carlisle School Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, at 10 a.m.
COMING UP
The Carlisle Cultural Council will meet remotely on Monday, July 13. The same evening, the Planning Board will hold a hybrid meeting, including a scheduled public hearing on a proposal at 1090 North Road. Also on July 13, the Carlisle Affordable Housing Trust will meet via Zoom.
The Carlisle School Committee's next meeting is set for Wednesday, August 5, at 10 a.m.
