Carlisle Board of Health Issues Level 3 Drought Advisory

CARLISLE — The Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs has placed the Northeast Region, including Carlisle, in Level 3 – Critical Drought status, prompting a fresh advisory from the town's Board of Health. Separately, Carlisle's Community Preservation Committee opened its FY27 fall grant cycle, with applications due by noon on Friday, August 14, ahead of a vote at the November 16 Special Town Meeting.

TOWN HALL

The Board of Health's Level 3 drought advisory is the most consequential item out of Town Hall this week, reflecting the state's upgraded critical designation for the region. Residents should expect continued water-use restrictions to remain a focus as the summer progresses.

The Community Preservation Committee is now accepting FY27 fall-cycle grant applications, with the noon, August 14 deadline set ahead of the November 16 Special Town Meeting vote on funded projects.

The town also confirmed that permit enforcement is now in effect at the Transfer Station. Same-day transactions by credit or debit card are available at the Police Station; all other transactions will be handled by mail, and no cash is accepted. The July edition of the Town of Carlisle Municipal Newsletter has also been published, with monthly town and community news and open submissions from local groups.
