Carlisle Activates Transfer Station Permit Enforcement, Bans Cash Transactions

The town's Transfer Station permit enforcement is now in effect, and Carlisle Public Schools has posted updated campus ground rules ahead of its summer program, making Tuesday a day of routine but important administrative transitions for residents.

TOWN HALL

Residents who use the Transfer Station should know that permit enforcement is now active. Same-day permit transactions are available at the Police Station using a credit or debit card; all other transactions will be handled by mail. The town is not accepting cash. Full details are available on the Transfer Station page at carlislema.gov.

Looking ahead to the week, two town committees are scheduled to meet Wednesday, July 1: the Trails Committee (hybrid) and the Finance Committee (remote). The Municipal Facilities Committee and the Land Stewardship Committee both meet Thursday, July 2.

SCHOOLS

Carlisle Public Schools has posted summer campus information on its website. The main office will operate on summer hours, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Summer School runs July 6 through August 7, and during that period the School Street parking lot is closed to the public on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The playground is reserved for student use only during those same weekday hours, and public restroom access will not be available for playground visitors. The next Carlisle School Committee meeting is set for Wednesday, August 5 at 10 a.m.

The district has also published its 2026 summer learning resources, including summer reading materials for all grade levels and math practice tools, available at carlisle.k12.ma.us.
