Billerica Public Library to Close Four Days for Independence Day Weekend

The Billerica Public Library is wrapping up its first full week of Summer Reading before going dark for the Independence Day holiday, giving residents a heads-up that the building will be shuttered for a four-day stretch starting this Friday.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The library announced that it will be closed Friday, July 3, and will remain closed through Sunday, July 5, in observance of Independence Day. Regular summer hours — Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — resume Monday, July 6.

The closure comes just days into the library's Summer Reading Challenge, which launched Monday, June 22, and runs for all ages — children, teens, and adults. Residents who haven't yet signed up can do so at 15 Concord Road or through the library's online catalog and app.

Looking a bit further out, the MassHire Lowell Mobile Career Center continues its regular Monday visits, parking in the lot behind the library from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
