Belmont Sets August 22 Start For In-Person Early Voting

Belmont's town clerk's office announced that in-person early voting at Belmont Town Hall will begin August 22, giving residents an early look at the fall election calendar. Separately, Select Board Chair Taylor Yates held office hours on July 9, offering residents a chance to bring questions, comments, and ideas directly to the board's leadership.

The town's homepage also flagged its 2026 road construction season, now underway, with residents encouraged to check whether their neighborhoods will see work this summer, and continues to point residents to expanded health department resource directories.

SCHOOLS

Belmont Public Schools confirmed that registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open. The district previously announced that BPS will extend the student day by 15 minutes at all schools for the coming school year, a change tied to the May 29 collective bargaining update, and the district's homepage also highlighted the School Committee's ratification of contracts with the Belmont Education Association following more than 19 months of negotiations.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Board of Library Trustees is scheduled to meet July 9. Area library branches continue seasonal programming, including drop-in tech help and family storytime offerings at nearby San Mateo County Libraries locations, part of a broader summer slate of hands-on and educational events.
