The Town of Ayer has scheduled a Special Town Meeting for Monday, July 13, at 7 p.m. at Ayer Shirley Regional High School, according to the town's official website. Details of the warrant were not published in the town's online notice, but the meeting follows other recent municipal actions, including proposed changes to the Devens governance structure that remain posted for resident review on the town site.
The town also continues to flag its 2025 Water Quality Report as newly available, and officials have kept mandatory water restrictions in place since May 1, according to notices on the town's website. Separately, the town noted that a stop work order on the Lincoln Hills project has been lifted, though no further detail was included in the posted statement.

The Ayer Library is promoting its summer season, with recent additions including a new "Speed Reads" section for high-demand titles and free limited 3D printing available via a Prusa CORE One, funded by the Friends of the Ayer Library, according to the library's website. The library's Summer Reading season kicked off with a Summer Kickoff Carnival featuring Ed the Wizard, a bounce house, and a plant and seed swap, per the library's posted news. The library continues to solicit resident feedback as it works on its next strategic plan, according to its website.
