Acton Seeks Volunteers To Clear Ice House Pond Invasive Plant

ACTON — Acton Conservation is calling on residents to help pull invasive water chestnuts from Ice House Pond next month, one of several community and library items rounding out a quiet stretch in town.

TOWN HALL

Acton Conservation announced a community removal day at Ice House Pond set for August 15 from 9 a.m. to noon, asking volunteers to help clear water chestnuts, an invasive aquatic plant that can choke waterways if left unchecked. Residents interested in participating can find details through the town's News Flash page.
